Projects

The store will be built in a shop located on the waterfront in Baku. It seems particularly "difficult" for the morphological characteristics of the rooms. These, in fact, consist of two halls with a very elongated rectangular shape on the direction of the entrance and the road, each of about 3 x 10 meters, linked by a passage not so large at about two thirds of the lengthiness. The rooms are vaulted, with a moderate height (about two meters to the sets arc and not more than three meters in the key). Each of the rooms overlooking the street through an arched opening, also of modest height. The first one, on the left of the front on the street, is the entrance, the second consists in a showcase. In this condition, it was decided to proceed with a significant reduction of decorative elements, focusing on a formal organization composed of simple elements, the vault, the arch, the diaphragm wall, so as to provide the highest airyiness to spaces. The project for the setting, then, was developed with the use of the furnishings, already used for the store in Rome at Via Borgognona, to emphasize the brand "Eddy Monetti", as requested by the client. The resulting layout provides for the construction of four areas. The first, proceeding from the entrance, houses a technical space for cash, clothing and accessory exhibitors, and is complemented by a round table like a support in the center of space, while that a console with a mirror is placed on the center of the barycentric axis with a decorative and testing function; the installation is completed with two seats for waiting. The second, placed over a diaphragm wall, consists of an area for shirts and accessories, and is completed by two displays for clothing and footwear. The third room, located near the entrance hall, houses a showcase setted with mannequins and a display for accessories; it is a large area for clothing and footwear with four exhibitors symmetrically placed under the barrel vault. The place is completed, then, with a console and a lower display on the center of the space allineated with the same barycentric axis of the first hall. The fourth area is over an additional diaphragm wall and houses the area of the dressing rooms. These were partially screened by a side scene on which it is suggested to reproduce an historical giant photo of the brand "Eddy Monetti" of the 1937. Beyond the area of dressing rooms, and filtered by it, there are local services rooms, the storage, and the office, with an access from the back of the building. For materials is suggested to use for the floor the local stone with a brushed treatment in a large format (30x60 or 60x60) and placed in vertical list, with staggered joints. The walls are finished with smooth plaster with colors of light brown, and with the white plaster for the vaults. The only decorative elements are the cornices and moldings, which are also made with brushedlocal stone.
